We Got to Hunt for One of my Bucket List Agates! | Hunting for Beautiful Crowley Ridge Agates!
In this one, we make a stop on our return route from Florida to cross off one of my bucket list rocks: Crowley Ridge Agates! I absolutely adore Crowleys and have always wanted to find my own, so getting to stop and hunt for some was such an awesome experience, even if we did only have a few hours to stop. We ended up walking away with a gorgeous little pile of heavily banded agates, a handful of extremely well preserved Favosites, some banded chert, and even a few pieces of petrified wood! Alexis even found a huge geodized Crinoid calyx! It was a great day for sure, and I am so happy we got the opportunity to stop and cross off one of my bucket listers! I hope you all enjoy this one, and I will have another one out soon!

Big Shiny Rocks! Polishing Agates, Agatized Coral, Galaxy Stone, & More on my New Vibratory Lap!
Переглядів 4,6 тис.16 годин тому
In this one, we use my new "not-so-new" Vibratory Lap to polish some rocks! I have had this amazing tool for quite awhile but just recently figured out how to use it, so I figured what better way to break it in than polishing a bunch of rocks! We selected a few beautiful Haunted Ridge agates, a fantastic Teepee Canyon agate, some agatized coral, a chunky amygdaloidal basalt, and a royal blue ag...
So Much Coral! Cutting a Heap of Beautiful Agatized Coral Geodes and Silicified Fossil Corals!

In this one, we cut a heap of BOTH varieties of Florida's agatized Coral! Our good friend Derek the Rock Master sent us home with a bucket of raw coral geodes. On top of that, he and I went to a site with phenomenal solid agatized coral heads! It was so much fun cutting into these beautiful specimens, and we got some fantastic results! I hope you all enjoy this one, and I will have another one ...

In this one, we head out with Derek the Rock Master for our last venture in Florida! We set out with hopes of finding good calcite coral, which to be fair we did find, but ended up spending the day finding incredible rocks! Fossiliferous chert loaded with agatized shells, limestone filled with fantastic fossils, completely calcified fossils in matrix, but the true stars of the day were the incr...

In this one, we go on one amazing adventure with the Tampa Bay Fossil Club into an active quarry! In this one, we head to a private site with our good friend Derek the Rock Master to hunt for some amazing calcite fossil specimens! Unfortunately, the site had eroded quite a bit during recent storms, so we had several hours of digging before we even saw our first specimen. That being said, the wait and work was well worth it, because the finds started to pile up after that! Gorgeous whelks, o...

In this one, we embark on a hunt with our good friend Derek the Rock Master down in Florida for some beautiful shark teeth! • @ronyrockhound939

These rocks originate from Crowley Ridge, Arkansas; a 200 mile stretch of land, protruding upward, that used to be an island when the Gulf of Mexico extended up into Utah. The Ridge continues to rise by millimeters every year, pushing up new rocks to be eroded away on a regular basis. Amazing the variety, even found one exceeding 3 lbs. and is complete (no fractures or break offs). :)

@@leslieprather2611 yes, this was on our return route during our road trip to Florida, there are definitely more corals in Montana the farther east you go though! Like in Billings I have maybe found a small handful over the years, but from Miles City onward, you will typically find one or two every hunt. There seems to be a lot more coral out there. I was curious- when you switched to that continuous rim blade on your covington, did you adjust the feed rate at all? Notice if the motor heated up faster? Ive been wanting to switch to continuous for that smooth cut, but was worried id smoke the motor.

🤝🤝🤝Dear friend, agate stone lover! I am very interested in watching your videos. I want to give you some advice. Before starting work on the vibrating machine, heat the stone not too much so that the hand can withstand it. Next, dilute the epoxy resin, heat it up a little and smear the microcracks in the stone. This way, the abrasive will not clog into the cracks.
